Law in Action

Law in Action (Polish title: Prawo w Działaniu) is a law journal focusing on public and private law. Law in Action publishes articles on most topical legal subjects from outstanding contributors, enjoying a well-deserved position among the best legal and academic periodicals in Poland. The journal presents results of studies on the quality of law and its application by justice bodies, based on such sources as case files of court or prosecutorial proceedings. Law in Action also publishes reports from criminology studies devoted to exposing the causes of (and describing trends in) criminality, anti-crime policies and juvenile delinquency. Starting from Volume 35, each issue of Law in Action also includes scholarly articles presenting ready-to-use proposals of legislative amendments to existing legal instruments. These articles should have the following uniform structure, composed of: the first part, containing a proposal for an amendment expressed in the legal language, and the second part, an explanatory memorandum outlining the author’s rationale for the amendment’s introduction (for an example of such article, see Pohl, Ł. Propozycja nowelizacji art. 18 Kodeksu karnego, Prawo w Działaniu 2018(35), 156 et seq.). We are looking forward to receiving such articles from authors. All contributors who want to see an article with a “ready-to-use” proposal of a legislative amendment, please begin the piece’s title with the words “The Proposal of an Amendment to Article ...” (Polish: “Propozycja nowelizacji art.”). ISSN: 2084-1906 ISSN: 2657-4691 (online version) POLISH REGISTER OF NEWSPAPERS AND JOURNALS: entry no. PR 17677 The original (reference) version of Law in Action is the journal’s online (electronic) version.
Each issue of Law in Action contains articles on a variety of topics, but it is possible to publish monograph editions. The views expressed by the authors in their articles do not reflect the position of the Publisher.
Law in Action has been published by the Institute of Justice as a quarterly since 2013. Each year, individual volumes are devoted to civil and family law and to criminal law and criminology.
Law in Action employs the double blind review system.
